Following the 2016 presidential election virocode embraced the slowly unfolding cultural accident that we are in and set out to infiltrate Instagram with small tragedies of sugary sweetness. These images are part of virocode’s artistic resistance to the collective memory loss and amnesia of modern privilege.  In a culture where abundance and liberty are taken for granted, these tasty images of first-world waste aim to remind the viewer that the future is uncertain, and reality can be the most precious of delicacies to perish. The images here are an intersection of events, and transitions of form, whose crush, splash or splatters serve as markers of outright immediacy. Such history that we are living in is a cold, incalculable lunacy, which to some yields a bittersweet punch line and to others serves just desserts.
